On September 15, 2011, IIA hosted the president of Association of Sakarya Tradesmen and Craftsmen (Turkey) Mr. Hasan ALISAN and the General Coordinator of Turkey Bakery Federation Mr. Necdet COKHAMUR.Secretary General of IIA Mr. Osman Chalishkan shared with guests the information about structure and the members of IIA and held the presentation concerning the activities of IIA. The visit of 50 people delegation of mentioned associations were planned during the meeting; International Investors Association will coordinate the future visit.

On September 15of the current year, International investors Association of Georgia was  visitedby the delegation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Urfa, Turkey. The guests were hosted by the Deputy Chairman of the Association Mr. CezmiAksahin and the Secretary General of the Association Mr. Osman Chalishkan. The fields of interest of the businessmen of Urfa Chamber of Commerce and Industry are:  greenhouse industry, production of irrigation system, food, harvesting equipment, wheat manufacturing, veterinary vaccines and biological substance, special medical products and porcelain. After the meeting in the Association, the representatives of Urfa Chamber of Commerce and Industry met with Mrs. DonaraSurmanidze -the Ministry of Agriculture of Ajara, also visited the greenhouse industry of Icon Group Company.

On September 13, 2011, IIA hosted the journalists of “HABERCI”newspaper from Republic of Turkey. “HABERCI” is the first Turkish-Georgian language newspaper in whole Black Sea Basin countries. The sides discussed future joint projects during the meeting.

 
Small Hydro Power Plant (SHP) Presentation PDF Print E-mail

On September 11 at 11:00, near the river Lekhva in the village Dagva, Kobuleti, Small Hydro Power Plant was set in operation. The Company “Ajara Textile” was the organizer of the mentioned event and the officials of Adjara Autonomous Republic Government, “Ajara Textile” partner businessmen from Malaysia and Singapore and private sector attended  the event. The property was purchased by the company “Ajara Textile” last year and was reconstructed. The company installed a new generator to the property for power supply. This modern technical equipment makes it possible to produce 100 KWH energy per an hour. 4 people are employed. There are about 150 Puma’s factories in the world and only “Ajara Textile” Company operates its own hydro power plant. The event was welcomed by the Turkish investor Mr. Cemal Bilgingulluoglu - owner of the company “Ajara Textile”. He says:  “Georgia’s energy sector is stable and successfully developing, there is great potential in this sector. The country is rich in small and large-sized rivers and thus, the use of hydro resources and the construction of hydro power plants will be a significant profit for the economy of Georgia and private sector. The setting in operation of the hydro plant on the river Lekhva means that, in Adjara region, particularly in Kobuleti, industrial enterprises and local residents will receive additional 100 kilowatt power energy and their energy security will be provided.”
