Small Hydro Power Plant (SHP) Presentation PDF Print E-mail

On September 11 at 11:00, near the river Lekhva in the village Dagva, Kobuleti, Small Hydro Power Plant was set in operation. The Company “Ajara Textile” was the organizer of the mentioned event and the officials of Adjara Autonomous Republic Government, “Ajara Textile” partner businessmen from Malaysia and Singapore and private sector attended  the event. The property was purchased by the company “Ajara Textile” last year and was reconstructed. The company installed a new generator to the property for power supply. This modern technical equipment makes it possible to produce 100 KWH energy per an hour. 4 people are employed. There are about 150 Puma’s factories in the world and only “Ajara Textile” Company operates its own hydro power plant. The event was welcomed by the Turkish investor Mr. Cemal Bilgingulluoglu - owner of the company “Ajara Textile”. He says:  “Georgia’s energy sector is stable and successfully developing, there is great potential in this sector. The country is rich in small and large-sized rivers and thus, the use of hydro resources and the construction of hydro power plants will be a significant profit for the economy of Georgia and private sector. The setting in operation of the hydro plant on the river Lekhva means that, in Adjara region, particularly in Kobuleti, industrial enterprises and local residents will receive additional 100 kilowatt power energy and their energy security will be provided.”

On September 12 of the current year, International Investors association of Georgia was visited by the businessmen form Singapore who are interested in the future implementation of investment projects in Ajara region. The guests were made the IIA presentation, were given the information concerning the structure of the Association and the activity of IIA member companies.

 
Presentation of Austrian Company “Malojer” in IIA PDF Print E-mail

On September 8 of the current year, at 11:00, in the International Investors Association of Georgia, the Austrian Company “Malojer” arranged a presentation about its activity. Representatives of local and foreign companies, government of Ajara Autonomous Republic and profile ministries as well as the representatives of IIA member companies attended the event. Field of interest of “Malojer” is the design-construction of hospitals, power stations, tourist bases and elite houses. Malojer” plans to take part in the construction of Borjomi leisure complex. Besides it plans for the future to participate in other construction projects in Ajara region.

Georgia-Azerbaijan Foreign Trade Turnover Marked Considerable Year on Year Growth PDF Print E-mail

The Georgia-Azerbaijan foreign trade turnover from January through July 2011 marked a 37 percent growth year on year and equaled 525.395 million USD as of August 1, 2011, while the figure stood at 383.69 million USD in the same period of 2010. With this indicator Azerbaijan ranks second with a 10.9 percent ratio. Including, the exports made up 188.708 million USD (132.891 million USD in the same period of 2010), the imports marked 336.687 million USD (250.799 million USD in the same period of 2010). Motorcars rank first in Georgia's exports with Azerbaijan with 80.482 million USD. The country has exported 9 399 motorcars in the reporting period, while Georgia exported 6 977 motorcars worth 57.959 million USD in the same period of 2010. Reinforcements rank second with 23.71 million USD. Neat-cattle exports rank third with 12.066 million USD, up 1.

On August 23 of the current year, International investors Association of Georgia was visited by Mr. CemilOzturk, the Project Coordinator of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Urfa, Turkey. The fields of interest of the businessmen of Urfa Chamber of Commerce and Industry are:greenhouse industry,production of irrigation system, food, harvesting equipment, wheat manufacturing, veterinary vaccines and biological substance, special medical products and porcelain. The visit of Urfa Chamber of Commerce and Industry members in Batumi and meeting with the representatives of International Investors Association member companies was planned for the next month.

On August 18 of the current year, an introductory tour to Sarpi Customs, Adlia Customs Clearance Zone and Batumi Justice House for businessmen and public servants was organized by the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Ajara. Tour participants including the member companies’ representatives of International Investors Association of Georgia got acquainted with the procedures which private person or businessman must go through: clearance procedures for goods, important information regarding the registration of estate, housing, notarial documents, citizenship, passport, visa, pastille acquisition and other important issues. Theoretical seminar on the same topic was held a month ago. Seeing customs and tax procedures with their own eyes was the further practical stage.
