The First Regional panel of the Diaspora Economic Forum – Diaspora Financial Inclusion and Revolutionary Innovations, started by the presentations of the foreign participating guests. Nina Matiashvili, Chief Adviser to the State Minister moderated the panel. Leon Isaac, Head of “Developing Markets Associates” made a presentation of emerging Diaspora revive markets in various countries. Constance Tzioumis, Director for Partnerships, Secretary’s office for Global Partnerships, US State Department spoke about development of public, private and partner organizations. Itsik Moshe, President of Israel-Georgia Chamber of Commerce made a presentation of Israeli experience and diaspora bonds. He drew parallels between Georgian and Hebrew Diasporas residing abroad, their attitude towards the motherland. The Chief Marketing Officer of “Homestrings” company Rubelyn Alcántara made a presentation on diaspora bonds and investment portfolios on the online basis. Ilyana Derilova, Head of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Georgia, closed the first panel. She talked about the growth of migration in the world and its role, as well as on diaspora investment vehicles focusing on the promotion in their homeland.  Secretary General of International Investors Association of Georgia Osman Chalishkan ( Mjavanadze)  made a Presentation on “Diaspora Investment Projects in Georgia”. The Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Diaspora Issues as the regional partner of the International Diaspora Engagement Alliance (IdEA) is holding the Diaspora Week. It aims to engage Georgian diaspora representatives in the ongoing processes and the challenges in Georgia. On October 13, at the exhibition center “Expo Georgia”, by opening the “Diaspora Economic Regional Forum” the Diaspora Week started. The Forum was addressed by the members of Georgian Government, Heads of the international organizations, as well as the newly appointed US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary H.E. Mr. Ian Kelly. The Forum aims presenting the new diaspora intellectual and financial service programs by partner organizations, as well as sharing of the diaspora investment projects by the Business Councils and Chambers of Commerce abroad, the innovative development of mechanisms for strengthening the diaspora investments in the region, engaging the diaspora for active participation in the processes at homeland, unite the people around the common goals and needs.
